Frequently Asked Questions
How do I mount the Bench Vice 150 on a System 16 or System 28 table?
Siegmund specifies 2 Fast Clamping Bolts 160511 with 2 Reduction Bushings 000546 on System 16, and 2 Fast Clamping Bolts 280511 on System 28. The double bore holes let you mount the vice at 45° or 90° to the table.
Will it fit a 16 mm or 28 mm table that is not a Siegmund?
Yes. It fits other 28 mm system tables with Ø28 mm bores on a 100 mm grid and 16 mm tables with Ø16 mm bores on a 50 mm grid, using the matching fast clamping bolts.
Can I mount it on an aluminum-top workbench?
Yes. When clamping in aluminum profiles, Siegmund recommends the Areal Clamping Bolt 160590 instead of the standard fast clamping bolt. On aluminum, tighten bolts hand-tight only.
Which jaw covers should I use?
Fiber covers suit finely milled, planed, ground or polished surfaces; rubber covers suit wood and plastic parts; neutral aluminum covers grip coarse to medium-fine machined parts; aluminum prism covers hold round or oval parts. The covers attach magnetically and do not magnetize the workpiece.
