Siegmund System 28 Square U-Shape blocks extend a 28 mm welding table sideways or upward, and connect two welding tables. Siegmund makes them in 200x100, 200x200, 400x200 and 400x400 cross-sections from 100 mm to 4000 mm long, plus elongated-hole and Premium Light versions; this collection also holds the System 28 clamping rails and clamping blocks. How is a Square U-Shape fastened to the welding table?
Siegmund says the Square U-Shape is firmly mounted to the table with connecting bolts (Siegmund item 280563). Fast clamping, universal, flush mount and positioning bolts must not be used to connect tables and Square U-Shapes; see the System 28 Bolts collection for connecting bolts.
Does a long Square U-Shape need a table leg?
Yes, when it is used as a table extension longer than 1000 mm, Siegmund says it has to be supported by a table leg. From a length of 500 mm all Square U-Shapes have mounting holes on the back for table legs (except 280310.P), and with legs item 280371 they can be used on foundation rails.
Which cross-section should I choose?
Siegmund describes the 200x100, 200x200 and 400x200 as table extensions for vertical setups and sturdy connections between two welding tables, and the 400x400 for superstructures and heavy workpieces. The elongated-hole 200x100 versions work like the standard 200x100 with additional elongated holes for more flexibility.
What are the grid lines on the Square U-Shape for?
Siegmund marks grid lines at 100 mm spacing on the System 28 Square U-Shape to make orientation easier. Boreholes on five sides and the optional diagonal hole arrangement give clamping and combination options with other squares and stops.
