Engineering support & demos

Engineering support comes with your purchase: fixture design, layout drawings, CAD and 3D models, site visits and cobot cell planning, handled by Travis Hardcastle at BTH Sales or by Siegmund directly. BTH Sales does not sell cobots; for cobot cells we help with table integration and fixturing (see cobot welding with Siegmund tables). Live demos at our St. Marys showroom are by appointment (book a demo), and we offer video demos if you are outside Ontario. BTH Sales is family-owned, founded in 2001, and has been the exclusive Canadian importer of Siegmund since 2018.

Typical uses

  • Simple, sturdy everyday clamping on a System 16 table (Siegmund).
  • Clamping different materials: Siegmund says you can fasten them by simply changing the prisms.
  • Siegmund recommends System 16 for light to medium-duty work and precision fixtures; its close 50 mm grid lets small components be fixed with high precision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose the Basic or the Professional screw clamp?

Siegmund rates both at 2.5 kN maximum clamping force and 200 mm high, with the same 8 mm ball spindle and 12 x 3 mm trapezoid thread. The Basic Screw Clamp (160620) is the simple, sturdy option at 128 mm wide; you set its distance to the part by rotating it. The Professional Screw Clamp (160610) adds a handwheel on a cast iron cross for height changes within seconds and an interchangeable prism.

How do I set the clamp to the part?

Siegmund says the distance between the screw clamp and the welding element is adjusted by rotation, and different materials can be fastened by simply changing the prisms.

Will it fit other 16 mm welding tables?

Yes, if the table has Ø16 mm bores on a 50 mm grid. Check the bore diameter and grid before ordering. Compatible tables from other manufacturers are often made from different materials and to different standards, so quality varies by manufacturer, compared with Siegmund's X8.7 tool steel.
