Compatibility

  • Fits: Siegmund System 16 welding tables and tooling with Ø16 mm bores on a 50 mm grid. It fits System 16 screw clamps with an 8 mm ball spindle, including clamps used on other 16 mm system welding tables with Ø16 mm bores. Compatible tables from other manufacturers are often made from different materials and to different standards, so quality varies by manufacturer, compared with Siegmund's X8.7 tool steel.
  • Not compatible: System 28 (Ø28 mm) tables; Siegmund builds each system around one bore size.
  • Works with: other Siegmund System 16 clamps, bolts, stops, squares and U-squares on the same table.
  • Care & grounding: anti-spatter spray, CleanBasic cleaner, Ground Connection Comfort (S16/S28).

Engineering support & demos

Engineering support comes with your purchase: fixture design, layout drawings, CAD and 3D models, site visits and cobot cell planning, handled by Travis Hardcastle at BTH Sales or by Siegmund directly. BTH Sales does not sell cobots; for cobot cells we help with table integration and fixturing (see cobot welding with Siegmund tables). Live demos at our St. Marys showroom are by appointment (book a demo), and we offer video demos if you are outside Ontario. BTH Sales is family-owned, founded in 2001, and has been the exclusive Canadian importer of Siegmund since 2018.

Typical uses

  • Clamping in corners or grooves (Siegmund).
  • Polyamide pressure ball for scratch-prone surfaces; stainless steel for scratch-resistant metals to prevent rust (Siegmund).
  • Blank 160661: machined to customer specification (Siegmund).
  • Siegmund recommends System 16 for light to medium-duty work and precision fixtures; its close 50 mm grid lets small components be fixed with high precision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pressure ball material should I choose?

Siegmund offers burnished steel (160660), stainless steel (160660.E) for scratch-resistant metals to prevent rust, and polyamide (160660.PA) for scratch-prone surfaces. The burnished blank (160661) is made to the customer's own specification.

When should I use a pressure ball instead of a prism?

Siegmund designed the pressure ball especially for clamping in corners or grooves; the prism is for clamping round and square pipes. Both fit spindles with an 8 mm ball head.

Will it fit screw clamps used on other 16 mm welding tables?

Yes, if the clamp has a spindle with an 8 mm ball head. Check the ball diameter before ordering. Compatible tables from other manufacturers are often made from different materials and to different standards, so quality varies by manufacturer, compared with Siegmund's X8.7 tool steel.
