BTH Sales is the exclusive Canadian importer of Siegmund. The Siegmund line we carry covers Professional Extreme 8.7 and 8.8 PLUS welding tables, welding plates, workbenches, clamps, stops, squares, bolts and tooling sets for System 16 and System 28.

Siegmund (Bernd Siegmund GmbH, Oberottmarshausen, Germany) defines each system by the borehole size of the table, and Siegmund says the choice depends on the type and size of your workpieces.

System 16 or System 28?

  • System 16 uses Ø16 mm boreholes on a 50 x 50 mm grid. Siegmund especially recommends System 16 for fine-detail fabrication and describes it as ideal for light to medium-duty work and precision fixtures.
  • System 28 uses Ø28 mm boreholes in a diagonal grid or a 100 x 100 mm grid. Siegmund describes System 28 as ideal for light to heavy components, designed for maximum clamping forces, multi-ton structures and high distortion forces.

Professional Extreme 8.7 tables use through-hardened X8.7 tool steel with plasma nitriding. The System 28 Professional Extreme 8.8 PLUS tables have 300 mm table sides; the 8.7 tables have 200 mm sides.

Can I use System 16 tooling on a System 28 table?

Not directly. Siegmund says all tool parts and sets can be used on all table series within one system. To work across systems, Siegmund offers connecting elements.

How much weight can a Siegmund welding table hold?

Siegmund rates load per table leg, as a static load: max. 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) per leg for System 16 basic legs, max. 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) per leg for System 28 basic legs and max. 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) per leg for System 28 PLUS legs. The leg type is listed on each table page.
