Siegmund System 16 stops position workpieces against a fixed or adjustable edge on a 16 mm welding table: eccentric stops for tight spaces, universal stops with boreholes or an elongated hole, a universal stop that doubles as a clamping bridge, flex stops for corners and freeform edges, a flat square, and the angle alignment template with its spacer sleeve. Which System 16 universal stops have an elongated hole?
Siegmund makes the Universal Stop 50L (2-160407.N) and 80L (2-160408.N) with boreholes only, spaced 25 mm apart. The 80L Adjustable (2-160410.N), 115L and 150L have an elongated hole adjustable 0–50 mm, and the 300M and 500M combine system boreholes with a longer elongated hole (adjusting range 100 mm and 150 mm on their item pages).
When should I use an eccentric stop or a flex stop?
Siegmund says eccentric stops (2-160401.N, Ø 45 mm) give infinite adjustment by simply twisting them and are used where space is restricted. Flex stops adjust through their elongated hole and have rounded clamping sides for corners and freeform stop surfaces; the aluminum Flex Stop 12x83 (2-160412) is favoured when working with stainless steel. The 24 mm thick Flex Stop 24x97 (2-160418) needs a long clamping bolt.
Can a stop also hold a part down?
Yes. Siegmund says the Universal Stop / Clamping Bridge (2-160450.N) can also be used as a clamping bridge: a screw clamp fastens it through the small hole in its centre.
Why does the angle alignment template need spacer sleeves?
The Angle Alignment Template (2-160455.N) sets angles in 10° increments or continuously from 0–90° with a 1° scale, and it ships with 2 spacer sleeves. Siegmund says the Spacer Sleeve (2-160538) is required as height compensation when clamping the template with bolts.
